Hula Cafe's fresh new menu.
Hula Café (Jill's Taste of Aloha) Bakery features a new fresh decor and times. They are open for lunch from 11am to 2pm for lunch. Dinner hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays will be from 6pm to 9pm with live dinner music by Roger beginning at 7pm. Saturday Brunches will continue from 10am to 3pm. Hula Café Bakery is located in the Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff at 244 W. Davis Street at Davis and Madison Avenue. Look for the turquoise awnings.
Ribs, Brisket, Chicken, Tilapia and Shrimp plates are featured on the new menu with that Pacific Rim twist that Hula Café Bakery is known for. The vegetarian side of the menu has been enlarged with roasted veggies as a main theme appearing in tortas, pizza with Jill’s delicious homemade crust, and also crepes. Two old favorites that made the cut are the cafe’s brisket sandwich and the macadamia nut burger. Potato Mac salad and Asian cole slaw also made the cut and will be joined by other side dishes such as pineapple baked beans, black bean corn salad, cheese frosted cauliflower, white bean hummus, macaroni & cheese, rice pilaf and yucca & plantain chips. Jill’s rich and hearty homemade soups-of-the-day will include chicken enchilada soup, tomato basil pizza soup, butternut squash, oatmeal with green chili and black beans, and yellow split pea with coconut and lemon grass.
Jill’s bakery will still have all your favorite cookies such as the maple pecan, anzac muesli, lemon melt away, soft chocolate iced with mocha glaze, chocolate chip pecan. and passion fruit sugar cookie with passion fruit glaze plus the ususal assorted shortbread cookies. Two new flavors will be soft red velvet sandwich cookie filled with vanilla cream cheese and pineapple sandwich cookies.
Jill will be offering more individual-sized desserts of the favorite ten inch cake versions such as carrot, chocolate A’a cake, coconut cupcakes, strawberry and German chocolate cupcakes. Brownies, toffee bars and lemon bars will also be available. And don’t forget her cheesecake favorites such as caramel apple, passion fruit, and key lime. Jill will be adding sweet potato/pecan and lemon chess tortes and pies.
The rich, full bodied coffees of the Big Island will still be featured for those who like to sit and have a baked sweet. Web surfers can plug their devices into the newly installed power strips along each wall, relax in the lounge area and take advantage of FREE WiFi via the upgraded AT&T U-verse Internet with speeds up to 6mbps.
