Besides Harvey Martin, Wayne Morris pro football running back for the
St. Louis Cardinals also from SOC. Everson Walls, a very popular
former Cowboys defensive back who gave a kidney to his former Cowboys
team mate, Ron Springs, also went to SOC.
Lance Armstrong was born in Oak Cliff at Methodist Hospital. I went to Adamson with his mom and dad. I held him as a baby at a, mutual friend's of his parents, home on Nolte St. near Vernon Train Station.

Has anyone ever brought up the name Snuff Garrett. He's from Oak Cliff and attended Sunset. He did the musical score for alll th Smoky and The Bandit movies and had his own group that produced several albums (Snuff Garrett and His 101 Spanis Guitars. He is also said to have been responsible for bringing Western Art to Beverly Hills and getting Burt Reyonalds into collecting Western Art. He's like a 3rd cousin of mine and this is about all the info I can provide you with. Thanks, John F. Gaines

Othello Beck – was well-known OC artist depicting black culture; featured guest artist at State Fair of Texas for years
Ruby Choat – taught art classes in OC for more than 50 years. Known artist for painting irises. Mother of Lovita Irby
Rena Honea – Adamson H.S., Educator, President DISD Alliance/ AFT, American Federation of Teachers
Mark Housewright, Kimball H. S., owned and operated the “Oak Cliff Tribune,” served on the Dallas City Council
Lovita Irby – Sunset H. S., well known for painting bluebonnets, owner of The Bluebonnet Gallery in DeSoto and guest artist at the State Fair of Texas for 32 years
Lee Jackson – Kimball H. S., Currently serving as Chancellor of University of North Texas System, served 10 years as Texas State Representative, elected four times as Dallas County Judge, and currently President of Association of Texas Colleges and Universities.
Rudy Jarmillo – Sunset H. S., hitting coach for Texas Rangers
Michael Johnson – lived in Oak Cliff and graduated Skyline H. S., world record sprinter, 4 Olympic gold medals in 1996 Atlanta, U. S. Olympic Hall of Fame
Louise Latham – Sunset H. S., actress
Karen Luschar – Kimball H. S., Broadway singer, actress and dancer
George Robert McFarland – known as “Spanky” in “Our Gang” series. Born at Methodist Hospital. Family lived in house on
Lancaster near 7th St. that was later torn down to expand James Bowie E. S.
Josephine Oliver – Concert violinist
Joe Pool – Adamson H. S., A U. S. Congressman from 1963 until his death. Post office on Hampton at Hwy 67 and Joe Pool Lake bear his name.
Ken Pritchett – Sunset H.S., well-known builder. Served as President of National Home Builders Association as well as Dallas Home Builders Assoc., and Duncanville Home Builders Assoc.
M. K. Semos – artist ( Mary Katherine Semos grew up in Oak Cliff, parents Chris and Tassie Semos. I think she graduated for the Arts Magnet, Booker T. Washington.)
Carrol Smith – Kimball H. S., well-known realtor in southern Dallas County, currently with Judge Fite Realtos; recipient of many top awards and honors by employeer and peers in Dallas since 1987
